UM Women

United Methodist Women

Open to all women, this organization primarily focuses on educational information and support of missions – locally, nationally and globally.

St. Mark’s United Methodist Women (UMW) is an organized unit of United Methodist Women that shall be a community of women whose purpose is:

  • To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons, through Jesus Christ.
  • To develop a creative supportive fellowship.
  • To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

Unit meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month* in the church library or Fellowship Hall. All women of St. Mark’s are cordially invited to attend. You don’t have to be a member of United Methodist Women, or St. Mark’s UMC, or any church to come. Programs are planned annually, and are designed to implement our purpose (above). Unit meetings start with light refreshments beginning at 9:30 a.m. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and a short business meeting follows the monthly program. Watch the church newsletter and/or the weekly Sunday worship bulletin for specific information about monthly meetings and activities of United Methodist Women. An annual schedule of program topics can also be found in the sidebar at the right of this page.

Grace Circle

Grace Circle is a smaller group of women that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (except July and August). We are the ‘hands-on” mission group, with program/projects designed to work around the church, or at various local organizations supported by UMW and/or St. Mark’s UMC mission funds. Watch the church newsletter and/or weekly Sunday worship bulletin for specific information about monthly meetings and activities of GRACE Circle.

Quilters

Quilters is a subsidiary group of United Methodist Women, the St. Mark’s Quilters meet on Thursday mornings to plan patterns, cut fabric and quilt, as well as to enjoy conversation while they work. Some quilts are created by custom order; others are available for purchase. All funds earned by the St. Mark’s Quilters are used for missions that support women and children.
