This Sunday (April 25) and next Sunday (May 2), we continue our series, “According to Jesus, Love Is …”

As I heard the verdict this week in the Derek Chauvin trial, I thought about John Wesley’s admonition to Jesus’ followers to work to “Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God.” These three simple rules are grounded in God’s love for us and for all people. For me, that means that our prayers are poured out for those who mourn, for justice for all people, for safekeeping and wisdom for law enforcement, and for ourselves – to have a humble spirit that seeks to remember the words of Micah 6:8: “O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

Blessings,
Sharon
