Busy, Busy May

May is a busy month for St. Mark’s!

Service Sunday was a great success! We had 17 teams of people doing various service projects all over campus and the community. You’ll see photos on Sunday before and after worship, and more photos in the Welcome Center. A HUGE thank you to Kathie Barrett who dreamed this event into being.

Service Sunday gave way to a congregational meeting with Ministry Architects. Our lead consultant, Bryant Johnson, reminded us of the messy nature of renovation work, helped us celebrate what we’ve accomplished, and pointed out where we are going. The Renovation Team shared the results of its work and what’s next. We were given the “soft opening” of a Volunteer Accelerator that can help us take visitors from their first time at St. Mark’s to being connected through service or small groups.

Did you miss the meeting? (Sorry for the technical difficulties. This one was truly baffling for our team.) Here’s the link to the summary packet we shared at the meeting.

As if that’s not enough for this month, this Sunday we will celebrate the end of a year-long learning opportunity for our youth who were in Confirmation class. Seven youth will be confirmed in our 10 a.m. service, affirming that the vows made at their baptism is the way they will choose to live their lives. This is always one of my favorite Sundays, as it reminds the church that our hard work investing in our youth is worth it! Several of these kids have already asked what committees they can serve on. This is exciting!

On the 21st, we will celebrate graduates. Have a graduate? Be sure and let Rachel Mosher know!

On the 28th, it’s the celebration of Pentecost Sunday.

Easter may be behind us, choirs may be winding down, but church is still going strong! See you Sunday!

Blessings,
Pastor Lynn
