United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith

Open to all women, this organization primarily focuses on educational information and support of missions – locally, nationally and globally.

St. Mark’s United Women in Faith is an organized unit that shall be a community of women whose purpose is:

    • To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons, through Jesus Christ.
    • To develop a creative supportive fellowship.
    • To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

Unit meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) in the church library or Fellowship Hall. All women are cordially invited to attend. You don’t have to be a member of United Women in Faith or St. Mark’s UMC or any church to come. Programs are planned annually and are designed to implement our purpose (above). Unit meetings start with light refreshments beginning at 9:30 a.m. The program begins at 10 a.m. and a short business meeting follows the monthly program. Watch the church newsletter and/or the weekly Sunday worship bulletin for specific information about monthly meetings and activities.

Card Recyclers

Card recyclers meet the second and fourth Thursday of each month to recycle donated cards. Money from this project is donated to Youth on Their Own and the Amphitheater and Marana clothing banks.

Craft Circle

Craft Circle meets the fourth Tuesday of the month (second and fourth Tuesday in July and August). This group makes craft items for sale at the Masterpiece Festival in November and the UWF Craft and Bake sale in December to raise money for missions. Donations of craft items are always appreciated. Watch the church Messenger newsletter and bulletin for specific information about Craft Circle.

Elizabeth Circle

Elizabeth Circle is our prayer circle. There are no meetings but prayer requests are sent by email and snail mail monthly and when special need for prayer arises. Our main focus of prayer each month is the group or organization that is presenting the unit meeting program. Personal requests are added to that both for our own members and for others for whom we receive requests.

Grace Circle

Grace Circle is a smaller group of women who meet on the third Tuesday of the month (except July and August). We are the “hands-on” mission group, with program/projects designed to work around the church, or at various local organizations supported by UWF and/or St. Mark’s UMC mission funds. Watch the church newsletter and/or weekly Sunday worship bulletin for specific information about monthly meetings and activities of Grace Circle.

Quilters

The St. Mark’s Quilters meet on Thursday mornings to plan patterns, cut fabric and quilt, as well as to enjoy conversation while they work. Quilts we make are donated to different services in the Tucson area. To raise funds for batting and supplies, people bring quilts to us they wish to have hand quilted and a group of our ladies do that for a fee. Donations of fabric, batting and monetary gifts are greatly appreciated.
