Remember to Catch Your Breath!

We are at that time of year in Tucson, where unless you go out early in the morning or late at night, you are going to be met with incredible amounts of heat the second that you step out of the door. The air, whether humid or dry, is going to be a bit more difficult to breathe in than it would normally be because of the weather. Although I like the heat it doesn’t mean that it is good for me. The heat can make it more difficult to breathe for many of us. If you have ever experienced issues with your breathing you know exactly what I am talking about. If you have not ever had issues in this department consider yourself lucky. Having trouble with your breathing is one of the worst, and potentially scariest, experiences that you can have. We need to be able to breathe in order to survive.

Since we need to be able to breathe in order to survive I think that it makes a great amount of sense that the God who created the Universe comes to us as wind. We need God to survive just as much as we need air. The very nourishment that we get from the air is a direct gift from God that lives in us at all times. In fact the air itself is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit working in and through us.

As we continue our intentional focus on the Holy Spirit, both in and out of worship, I want to put a couple of questions out there for you to spend some time pondering. How can you increase your airflow? And how can you experience God more in every moment? Answers may not come quickly, but I would love to talk about where these questions lead you!

I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday, as we come together to worship (8:15 a.m., 9:45 a.m., or 1115 a.m.).

Many Blessings, Pastor Stuart
